Thirsk School

& Sixth Form College

    Visit from local MP

On Friday 6th October we welcomed local MP, Kevin Hollinrake, to speak to our sixth form.

Mr Hollinrake visited school in 2015 when he was standing as a candidate in the General Election. He was elected to parliament that year, and returned to school this month to share his experiences as a new MP.

A sixth form students said, 'It was great to hear from our local MP about life as a Member of Parliament and the transition from running a successful business to representing the views of over 75,000 people. It was also great to have the opportunity to ask him some questions about his policies and the work he's doing for Thirsk and Malton.'
