    Student progress puts us amongst top state schools nationally

    The Department for Education has recently published the 'Progress 8' data for all schools. This shows how much progress students have made since leaving primary school in eight key subjects, and is one of the most important new measures by which schools are now judged.
    Following our results in 2017, Thirsk School and Sixth Form College has gained a positive Progress 8 score of 0.11. This puts the school in the top third of state funded schools in the country.
    The school is rightly proud of this score, as it represents a huge amount of hard work on the part of the students and teachers alike. This score demonstrates that our students are progressing above expectations in the toughest subjects, and backs up our extremely strong Ofsted report, which can be read here:
