    Young Entrepreneurs

Young entrepreneurs from Year 10 braved more than six hours of sub-zero temperatures in Harrogate on Saturday 9th December to sell a range of products at the Asda Harrogate Young Enterprise trade fair.
Out of the nine schools represented, our students were the youngest, with all the other teams consisting of sixth formers. The teams competed for 'Best Trade Stand', 'Best Product' and 'Best Sales Team'.  Our students, trading as Thirsk Enterprise chose to sell candles for all occasions, combined with a bit of Christmas spirit - some Christmas cards, some baubles, some gift tags, plenty of glitter, and even a Santa outfit!

Miss Spragg, Head of Business Studies, accompanied the students and is very proud of her team, particularly as the event took place just two weeks after the students had decided what to sell. The event's judges, the Mayor of Harrogate, a representative of Stray FM, and Andrew Jones, MP for Knaresborough and Harrogate, all commended the team on their enthusiasm.
Well done to Bethnee Goodall, Chelsea Perrett, Jacob Fairweather, Katie Mandis, Katie Martin, George Strudwick, and also those that weren't there but helped to make it happen - Ben Smith, Caitlin Jameson, Jamie Daggett, Taylor Watson, and Blaney Wardhaugh.
Thirsk Enterprise are a subsidiary company of Young Enterprise set up in 2017.
