    Additional Support

    While the primary focus of the learning support team is to support inclusion in mainstream classroom, the breadth of knowledge and experience of the team ensures we can be adaptable and responsive to changing needs.  Some of the additional support and interventions we typically employ are shown below:

    1:1 interventions for literacy, numeracy, organisation, handwriting, spelling.
    1:1 Mentoring
    Workshops including a focus on behaviour, organisation, friendships, conflict resolution, anger management, raising self esteem, confidence building, raising aspirations. 
    Reading and scribing for assessments and exams.  
    Homework help clubs for upper and lower school students.
    Supported private study
    Alternative curriculum provision  
    Delivery of specific intervention programmes recommended by external agencies such as speech and language therapist, EMS (Enhanced Mainstream Service)
    Mid day supervision for pupils who may struggle at social times.  
    Screening for visual stress.
