    In KS3 German we study the following :

    • developing an understanding of key grammatical structures and applying them in our speaking and written work
    • developing the ability to listen to, speak, read and write German within the context of a wide variety of topics from ‘Logo 1’, ‘Logo 2’ and ‘Logo 3’ , including -
    • yourself and your family
    • your home and local environment
    • your holidays
    • keeping fit
    • food and drink
    • going on an exchange
    • school and work
    • the media

    Assessment :

    • assessment of listening and reading in October (year 7 and year 8 2nd foreign language beginners only)
    • listening/reading/writing exam in December
    • listening/reading/writing exam in March/April
    • speaking exam in June/July

    Learning beyond the classroom :

    • purchasing a German dictionary
    • practising at home, asking family to test you on vocabular
    • asking family to test you when memorising language for writing exams
    • going on the Year 7/8 trip to Strasbourg/Freiburg
    • taking part in the German exchange
