6th Form Students Achieve Excellent Results

In the Sixth Form 49% of grades at A Level were at A*, A or B and two students achieved four A* grades at A Level.   Almost all students went onto the university of their choice, including Cambridge and the London School of Economics, despite the increased competition for places this year. Thirsk students also continued the long tradition of securing places to study both Medicine and Veterinary Science.

GCSE Maths evening classes

These run at Thirsk School every Tuesday in term time between 19.00 and 21.00.

If you are interested, please contact the school for more information.

Students Arrive from Germany

The 15th German exchange between Nettetal in North West Germany and Thirsk School is currently underway. 18 German students and 2 of their teachers are visiting School and the surrounding areas.

Record GCSE Exam Results

Students celebrated record results at GCSE with 59% achieving at least 5 A* to C grades at GCSE and 80% achieving 5 or more A* to C grades. Many students achieved 10, 11 or 12 GCSEs at the very top grades and 36% of all GCSE grades were at A and A*.
These represent the best overall results achieved at Thirsk.

Ofsted says that Thirsk School and Sixth Form College remains a good school with outstanding features and does not need an inspection every three years, instead moving it into a five year inspection cycle.
